It's an honest-to-jeepers mystery! Agent Judy Drewdy sets out to solve the case of the missing puppy when a canine-cop-in-training vanishes into thin air.
Judy Moody is in a mood. A sleuthing, Nancy Drew kind of mood. So what's a WBMS (world's best mystery solver) to do? Go find a mystery, that's what! And she doesn't have to snoop for long: when Mr. Chips, a beloved crime-dog-in-training, goes missing, Judy Drewdy and her chums, agents Dills Pickle (Frank), Spuds Houdini (Rocky), and James Madagascar (Stink) find themselves smack-dab in the middle of a real-life, scare-your-pants-off whodunit. Was Mr. Chips stolen by dirty dognappers? And why are chocolate chip cookies disappearing all over town? Watch out for red herrings—along with plenty of clever references to classic Nancy Drew mysteries—as Eagle Eye Moody and company are hot on the case!
With a bonus story featuring the winner of the Judy Moody Ultimate Fan Contest!

Gr1-3-Judy Moody has been reading too many Nancy Drew novels. She is looking for a mystery to solve when Officer Kopp visits the school with his police dog. When the dog goes missing a few days later, Judy pulls together her brother and friends to form a detective club and save the day. Judy is an endearing mix of precocious and familiar with just the right amount of exaggeration. The same could be said of the story. Watercolor-and-ink drawings break up the text.-Amelia Jenkins, Juneau Public Library, AK

Grades 3-5 Judy Moody is a Nancy Drew fan, so she is thrilled when it seems mysteries are all around her. First she figures out who stole her candy, but thats Stink, of course. Then she locates her teachers glasses, though they werent exactly stolen. But when Mr. Chips, a police pup, goes missing, she has a real case on her hands. Kids who know the Nancy Drew books will enjoy this even more, as many Drewisms are sprinkled throughout. Mysteries and Moody, a winning combination.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2010, American Library Association.)
